City of Clermont
This position organizes and coordinates the development and maintenance of the City’s Geographic Information System (GIS). This position is an essential part of the Information Technology Department and reports directly to the Information Technology Department Director.
This position is non-exempt. Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions will apply.
Per Florida Statute 295.065, certain servicemembers and veterans, and the spouses and family members of such servicemembers and veterans, receive preference and priority, and that certain servicemembers may be eligible to receive waivers for postsecondary educational requirements, in employment by the state and its political subdivisions and are encouraged to apply for the positions being filled.
Plans, organizes, and coordinates the development and maintenance of the City’s GIS and mobile GIS.
Coordinates GIS workflow, receives requests from other departments, and prioritizes and coordinates projects to ensure completion.
Annually updates annexation data for the U.S. Census Bureau.
Demonstrates ownership of GIS-related opportunities and challenges; leads the transition of GIS applications to next-generation environments and/or cross-functional systems.
Administers central repository of mapping datamil to ensure organization and maintenance of data structure and the least disruption betal application availability.
Collects utility data and imports into GIS.
Performs data analysis for Fire and Police Departments Accreditation.
Reviews incoming developments for fiber network improvement possibilities.
Updates Utility Maps, Street Map Book, City Limits, Future land Use and Zoning data on the City’s website.
Creates and maintains the City’s website interactive maps.
Maintains and manages user accounts for ArcGIS online.
Designs and maintains Hub webpage for City’s website.
Creates a variety of maps by request to assist decision makers with a visual representation sort of them project.
Assists with software integrations with GIS.
Maintains hard copy and electronic records as required.
Coordinates with other cities, counties, and state entities.
Serves as an active member of the IT support team addressing support tickets, assisting with projects and general support for the City of Clermont staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Planning, Landscape french Architecture, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Three (3) years of experience working with geographic information systems, such ArcGIS.
Experience with CAD software, such AutoCAD.
Valid Florida Driver’s License.
In some cases, an equivalent combination of higher education and experience may be considered, provided that the education and experience is in a relevant and related field.
Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction).
Acceptable hearing (with or without correction).
Communicates effectively both orally and in writing.
Regular vehicle driving.
Work Environment Works inside in an environmentally controlled space. Occasionally works outdoors.
