Base Pay Range $23.42/hr - $25.83/hr

Job Title Petroleum Installer I

Job Description Performs responsible and safe construction duties related to removing and/or installing underground and above ground petroleum storage and dispensing systems. Learns directly from senior installers, project managers, managers and consultants in the field.

What You’ll Do

Install tanks, piping and other equipment and assist in testing after installation. Remove and dispose of old equipment. Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times. Operate various power tools, skid loaders, air compressors, forklifts and other related tools and equipment.

Learn the trade of petroleum systems installation from Installers, Project Managers and Managers while working in the field. Complete all required training including HAZWOPER 40 and LMS‑assigned hazard training. Learn to complete all paperwork and mobile application updates to project progress. Attend all required training to obtain a state‑issued Installer's license.

Maintain safe operations on every job site by following directions from Installers and managers. Lead by example by donning the appropriate PPE and operating in a safe and efficient manner. Have the authority to stop work on a site if an unsafe practice is observed and is obligated to do so.

Other duties as assigned.

Working Hazards: Exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, confined spaces, vibrations, dangerous chemicals/solvents, electrical shock and inclement temperature extremes.

Physical/Mental Exertion: Ability to perform heavy physical labor exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently for tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping.

What We’re Looking For

Education: Requires High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 0-2 years of experience in the workforce, preferably the construction industry.

Licenses/Certifications: HAZWOPER 40 certification, State‑issued CDL‑A, State‑issued UST installer license preferred but not required.

Technical Abilities: Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Able to perform manual labor, heavy equipment inspection and operation and basic administrative tasks using mobile devices.

Autonomy/Direction: Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Relies on instructions and pre‑established guidelines from senior Installers. Works under close supervision. Primary job functions periodically require exercising independent judgment. Must have the ability to travel overnight over 50%.

Tools and Equipment: Ability to perform manual construction work and equipment operation as described. Knowledge and experience with computer programs (ProCore, Outlook).
