Coulter & Justus, PC, a Knoxville based CPA firm, is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our expanding Client Accounting Services and Business Insights (CASBI) Department. With Coulter & Justus having one of the largest Tax and A&A practices in East Tennessee, our CASBI Department has ample opportunities to provide accounting services to clients in a variety of industries. Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team and support our accounting operations.
Responsibilities
Transactional accounting (Bank feed entering/posting)
Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close
Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Assist with new client onboarding and clean up projects
Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1–3 years of accounting experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and peers
Ability to work in a paperless environment
QuickBooks® experience preferred but not required
