A leading investment team is seeking an Asset Allocation professional to join as a Vice President. This opportunity offers the chance to work directly for a highly regarded CIO, a flexible investment mandate, and a hybrid work model.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience within an insurance company asset management environment, specifically in a tactical allocation role. The most relevant coverage for this individual includes fixed income and specialized asset classes, such as public and private equity, real estate, bank loans, high‑yield, and emerging market debt.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Asset Allocation – Design and manage strategic asset allocations for existing portfolios by incorporating key inputs such as current portfolio holdings, cross‑asset relative value assessments, Treasury cash‑flow projections, dividend forecasts from Capital Planning, liability data from Actuarial, and broader capital market assumptions.

New Idea Generation and Proposal Development

– Assess prevailing market conditions to formulate strategic and tactical asset allocation recommendations for presentation to group and local investment committees. A core responsibility is the development of clear, well‑structured, and defensible investment proposals. Collaborate closely with Tax, Accounting, Legal, Regulatory, Actuarial, Capital Management, Treasury, and other internal partners to design and implement new investment strategies.

External Manager Due Diligence and Performance Oversight

– Oversee the selection, onboarding, and ongoing monitoring of external managers across core fixed income and specialized asset classes, including public and private equity, real estate, bank loans, high yield, emerging market debt, and other strategies. Conduct comprehensive due diligence on prospective managers and evaluate co‑investment opportunities under consideration.

Qualifications

Seven years of experience within an insurance‑company asset management environment.

Strong knowledge of investment management principles, including strategic and tactical asset allocation and capital market dynamics.

Experience partnering with external investment managers or internal portfolio managers to develop benchmarks, construct portfolios, and analyze efficient frontiers.

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred, with academic focus in finance, economics, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
