Reports to: VP of Finance
Company: Confidential – Private Equity–Backed Platform Company
Role Overview A rapidly growing, private equity–backed aggregator executing an active acquisition strategy across multiple markets. They are seeking a Senior Accountant with strong technical accounting skills and hands‑on experience supporting mergers and acquisitions. This role will be highly involved in deal execution, post‑acquisition integration, and scaling accounting processes in a fast‑paced environment.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working across multiple entities, thrives in ambiguity, and partners closely with FP&A, operations, and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities
Support financial due diligence for acquisitions, including review of target financials and quality of earnings materials
Assist with purchase accounting under ASC 805, including opening balance sheets and post‑close adjustments
Coordinate with external auditors, valuation specialists, and PE sponsors during transactions
Support deal closings by preparing accounting memos and transaction‑related journal entries
Lead or support onboarding of acquired entities into the company’s accounting systems and close process
Standardize accounting policies, chart of accounts, and internal controls across acquired businesses
Reconcile legacy accounting records and resolve integration‑related accounting issues
Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for multiple legal entities
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes under tight timelines
Ensure GAAP compliance and assist with technical accounting research and documentation
Support audit and review processes, including preparation of schedules and responses to auditor requests
Identify and implement process improvements to support rapid growth and increasing transaction volume
Assist in building scalable accounting infrastructure, systems, and controls
Partner with FP&A and operations to improve financial visibility and reporting accuracy
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
4–7+ years of accounting experience, preferably with exposure to M&A
Experience in private equity–backed companies, aggregators, or roll‑up models strongly preferred
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP; purchase accounting experience is a plus
Advanced Excel skills; experience with NetSuite or similar ERP preferred
Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
