Wolff Bros. Supply, Inc. is one of the largest independent Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC distributors in America and is seeking a Controller to oversee its Finance/Accounting activities.
The Controller is an integral part of the Management team, reporting to the VP of Finance & HR. This position is on‑site in Medina, Ohio, Monday through Friday with extra hours when needed.
Candidate must be a motivated self‑starter with a strong ability to define, execute, and measure key deliverables. Key functions include: acting as the accountable person for general ledger, timely month‑end close, developing & enforcing internal controls, ensuring compliance with financial standards & regulations, overseeing treasury & cash‑flow projections, FP&A activities, and driving continuous improvement across the entire business.
Position Responsibilities
Serve as the leader of financial reporting and related functions at Wolff. Manage, develop, and coach a team of four. Ensure compliance with tax‑basis accounting, federal and state taxes, and payroll/wage‑hour laws. Produce timely financial statements and managerial reports to aid in management decision making. Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes. Maintain, evaluate, and implement appropriate internal controls. Provide various support for administrative duties‑fleet, insurance. Complete other reports, as required. Other duties as assigned. Experience / Knowledge Requirements
CPA (active or inactive). Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business OR equivalent working experience. 10+ years of accounting experience with strong tax experience a plus. Experience managing a team – A/P, A/R, Payroll, Credit & Collections. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Experience in distribution environment. Experience in family‑owned business a plus. Core Competencies
Strong communication skills. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally. Financial planning, cost analysis, data analysis. Detail oriented.
