Our client is looking for a Grant Accountant to join their team! This position is set to be 3+ month long contract.
Duties/Responsibilities
Manage the full accounting lifecycle for government grants, from setup through closeout
Ensure compliance with grant agreements, regulations, and applicable federal, state, and local guidelines
Prepare, review, and submit grant‑related financial reports, reimbursement requests, and drawdowns
Track grant budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure costs are allowable, allocable, and reasonable
Reconcile grant accounts and maintain accurate supporting documentation
Collaborate with program managers to provide financial guidance and budget monitoring
Support internal and external audits related to grant funding
Assist with developing and improving grant accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with federal, state, and/or local government funding
Background in nonprofit, education, healthcare, or public sector organizations
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Strong knowledge of government grant compliance requirements
Experience preparing grant financial reports and managing reimbursements
Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel; experience with grant management systems a plus
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
