Senior Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster – NY Adjusters License
North American Risk Services (NARS) is seeking an experienced Senior Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster with a New York Adjusters License to join our Commercial Auto/Commercial Trucking Team.
Job Description
Maintain claim metrics and keep them current.
Handle a case load commensurate with the complexity level of claims assigned.
Establish facts of loss, perform coverage analysis, investigation, determinants of compensability, liability and negligence.
Coordinate medical care (as appropriate), manage litigation, assess damage, negotiate settlements, identify potential fraud and use authorized vendors.
Conduct timely reserve analysis and complete reporting.
Attend conferences, client meetings, mentor other adjusters, and assist management as requested.
Ensure all file handling is within state statutes, Client Claims Handling Guidelines and NARS Best Practices.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned, which may include travel.
Education / Licensing / Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required; 2‑year degree or higher preferred.
5+ years of prior claim adjusting experience, preferably in the relevant line of business.
For Senior BI Adjuster, at least 5 years of heavy litigation experience in the relevant line.
Must possess, or be able to obtain, a Florida Adjuster’s license or other required jurisdictional licensing.
Technical Skills
Negotiation and litigation skills for significant work with attorneys and arbitration on first and third‑party claims.
Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
Ability to work independently and manage time and organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to explain and respond to auditors, clients, and potential clients during in‑person presentations.
Abilities
Long periods of sitting.
Willingness to attend local NARS office meetings on occasion.
Working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
Lifting of files and boxes up to approximately 20 pounds.
Repeated use of keyboard and mouse, exposure to computer screens.
Willingness to travel for mediation.
