Associate Attorney - Patents & IP Transactions
Opportunity to join a leading full‑service California law firm in Irvine. The firm is AmLaw 200 and recognized for excellence, collaboration and work‑life balance.
Base salary $200,000–$225,000 per year, plus annual bonuses, 401(k) with profit‑sharing, comprehensive benefits, unlimited PTO for attorneys, and a clear path to partnership.
Responsibilities
Draft and prosecute patent and trademark applications before the USPTO.
Structure and negotiate complex IP licensing agreements, technology transfers and joint‑development agreements.
Draft and negotiate software licenses, SaaS agreements and open‑source compliance strategies.
Manage IP aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence and post‑closing integration.
Advise on patent, trademark and copyright portfolio strategies and monetization.
Counsel clients on IP provisions in commercial agreements and strategic partnerships.
Support venture capital and private equity transactions with IP valuations and risk assessments.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in intellectual property transactions.
Admitted to practice in California and before the USPTO.
Academic background from a top law school preferred.
Must reside within commutable distance to the Irvine office.
