Under general supervision, perform a variety of heat‑treating functions in altering the physical and mechanical properties of ferrous and nonferrous metals following established safety and operating in accordance with quality standards. Ensures that documentation, parts are correctly matched to paperwork. Makes up Heat Treat loads following published procedure by placing items to be heated in rack or basket following detailed instruction on technique cards or other department paperwork while maintaining production requirements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Follow established housekeeping and safety practices to maintain the quality of the work environment under general supervision. Must demonstrate the ability to complete all departmental paperwork in fine detail and explain the logic of all phases. Demonstrate ability to log on main computer system, extract information, log time, enter inventory amount and forward to next operation. Works under general supervision and guidance following established company practices and process procedures. Completes work sheets from accompanying paperwork and/or main computer system documentation and specifications for required heat treating. Counts parts before thermal treating; racks parts, furnaces, and identifies loads. Verifies proper function of furnace including temperature, time and ancillary equipment. May participate in scheduled survey of equipment function. May transport finished pieces to next operation station after paperwork is completed. Assists in preventative maintenance of furnaces and associated equipment. Reviews own work for completeness and quality workmanship standards. Records and processes data on production documents, on time, associated with the specified work performed. Possesses basic understanding of instrumentation and controls. Maintains control of shop/lot integrity and meets all production and quality standards. Possesses the ability to correctly and safely light up and shut down furnaces. Understands instrumentation and controls and is capableابين setting furnaces for procedures as set up by supervisor. Demonstrates basic understanding of why heat treat unit works and is able to interpret traveler as to end result of casting and what part heat treat plays in process toward end result. Gives full and detailed explanation of blend panel, temperature panel, and oil quench. Defines effects of time/temperature/carMientras/oxygen/etc. on hardness/softness of parts. Explains aging, anneal, what part Argon plays, Rockwell & Brinell Test, HIP, homogenize, overage, quench, soak time, sub‑critical anneal, subzero temper, and thermocouple. Turns in all heat treat batch sheets and records no more than 24 hours after the end of a specific recorded period. Attains a working knowledge of the QCPs and OPCilat and completes the qualifications including the following. Performs all other duties assigned. pipe TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

Training is provided on the job and may be documented by verbal, written, or practical testing. Heat treat experience preferred. Completion of ASM Heat Treating Course, Hardness Testing procedures and practical tests outlined in the Heat Treat Syllabus and documented famosos QA. Heat Treat Safety on Temper Furnace, Vacuum Furnace and Atmosphere Furnace. Training on methods to stack parts for efficient production without creating scrap or rework. Experience and/or training are included in considerations. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, read, follow and interpret instructions on technique cards, code sheets as well as other verbal or written instructions. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to use simple to moderately complex measuring devices and fixtures. Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
