Mon, Tues, Thur 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (flexible scheduling)
Position Summary Performs all duties including, but not limited to: typing and PC applications, filing, business machine functions, telephone and written communications, and assists in the facilitation of quality patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse. Performs tasks that do not require nursing judgments or administration of medications.
Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure
High school graduate or equivalent, business school or formal secretarial training a plus. One to two years’ minimum experience preferred. Patient care experience, mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity preferred.
BLS/CPR certification and first aid training required.
Participates in orientation, annual competencies, continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge/skills related to specific areas of expertise as applicable, including but not limited to:
Spine Surgery Program
Shoulder Surgery Program
Hip & Knee Replacement Program
Stroke
Wound Care
Special Equipment, Skills or Other Requirements PC and appropriate software knowledge, knowledge of office equipment and supplies. A solid understanding of department-related terminology. Good communication skills both oral and written as well as good interpersonal skills required. Customer service oriented. Service specific skills.
Work Environment and Hazards Office/Clinical setting. Exposure Class I: Routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions or secretions.
Physical Demands Light to Medium work (depending on the unit assignment). Requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying.
Pay Range $17.86 – $25.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. Pay may vary with location.
