The Gordian Planning Services team is a dynamic, diverse group focused on delivering valuable data and insights to help our customers keep facilities mission‑ready. Location : Remote – Central and West Region; United States (near major airport). This position works remotely, with up to 40% travel for client site meetings, assessment team support, and executive presentations.
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as the 'face' of the company, delivering value, growing relationships, and building the client pool.
Lead multiple, concurrent planning services projects on a national and international level.
Proactively set the pace for each project, anticipating time requirements, potential obstacles, and outside influences.
Effectively plan and communicate project workflow and timing of key milestones using our account/project management software.
Ensure all service and deliverable areas, as detailed in scope of work and contract terms, are met.
Maintain data integrity for all assigned accounts.
Create and maintain project files—including proposals, statements of work, change requests, client‑collected data, project coordination documents, and deliverables.
Coordinate and plan project travel as needed.
Take overall responsibility for successful project and service delivery to clients.
Produce and deliver high‑quality, error‑free reports and presentations to the client.
Escalate operational obstacles or identified risks to the aligned Regional Leader for support.
Contribute to the Success of the Team
Provide expert support to Analysts and Facility Assessment Staff.
Own project team performance, including client retention, revenue performance, and daily project execution.
Support project backlog allocation when capacity limits are exceeded.
Lead and coach team members on project management best practices and customer success.
Apply internal Fortive Business System tools to drive continuous improvement within project teams, the department, and the company.
Communicate information and direction clearly and concisely to project teams in alignment with the Regional Leader and departmental objectives.
Leverage feedback and implement strategies to improve team effectiveness.
Collaborate cooperatively with other Project Team Leaders, Sales Account Executives, Operations Managers, Analysts, Consultants, and others.
Foster an environment that values diverse perspectives.
Take ownership of your own development, including articulating focus areas and seeking support from the Regional Leader.
Support Business Development for New and Existing Clients
Serve as a subject‑matter expert for Planning Services solutions in sales and marketing.
Lead and drive renewals in collaboration with the Renewals Team at contract expiration.
Identify and support cross‑sell and upsell opportunities across Gordian solutions and collaborate with regional sales account executives.
Develop long‑term relationship management strategies in partnership with the Regional Leader or Regional Sales representative.
Deliver thought leadership to the industry.
Participate in product improvement based on industry needs and customer feedback.
Develop strategies to close gaps between forecast and actuals by shifting work and resources when possible.
Qualifications
Minimum of a 4‑year bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent.
5+ years of project management experience in architectural, engineering, facilities management, operations management, construction management, or a closely related role related to buildings and infrastructure.
Strong public speaking skills, including experience developing presentation materials.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Sound decision‑making in a fast‑paced environment; a consultative approach to managing complex client relationships, escalation problem solving, and risk management.
Analytical skills to support the Planning Services department through KPI data tracking.
Experience identifying client or staffing issues and creating effective solutions, and knowledge of when to escalate.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to remain composed, exercise good judgment, and act professionally when challenged; ability to build and sustain positive, collaborative relationships.
Physical ability to walk through campus environments, conduct visual inspections, and occasionally climb ladders.
Bonus or Equity This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.
Pay Range The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 65,100.00 - 120,900.00.
