Job Description
Intended for individuals with prior work experience supporting anatomic pathology functions. The individual will oversee the day to day operations of AP support functions and handle escalated issues.
Responsibilities
Provide direction and monitoring of workflow to meet deadlines and assure departmental coverage
Develop departmental policies/procedures and maintain these in written format
Provide feedback to employees via PD&R process, daily feedback, corrective actions and mentoring
Knowledge of all area of histology and cytology support functions and able to perform proficiently as needed
Identify and resolve all employee/client issues
Responsible for scheduling of time off/breaks/lunches
May supervise transcription area
Demonstrate and convey an understanding of the compliance policies relating to test ordering, test reporting, add-on tests, TIQ/TNRP, reflex tests and custom panels
Responsible for orientation and training of newly hired employees
Able to perform all AP Support Specialist, AP Resolution Specialist and other support functions, as needed
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required Work Experience:
3 years related experience
Preferred Work Experience:
6 years related experience
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
Knowledge:
Must have a thorough knowledge of client services, TIQ/TNRP, cytology and histology support functions
Knowledge of medical terminology
Strong knowledge of basic computer functions and Quest LIS
Skills:
Strong problem solving and leadership skills
Excellent organizational, collaborative and verbal/written communication skills
