About the Role The Product Design Engineer will work on the Commercial Products team that is part of the Bosch Home Comfort Group. In this division we design, manufacture and assemble heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment for the light commercial market. The position is in the Norman, OK facility and will report to the Director of Engineering for Commercial Products.
Responsibilities
Creates and develops product and/or system concepts or operating processes to fulfill business needs
Develops and designs processes, systems and procedures utilizing standard engineering or technology principles to complete assignments
Identifies, investigates and recommends improvements in products, systems or processes to improve the product application or operation. Conducts engineering or systems evaluation and experimentation to analyze applications or operation feasibility and explore alternatives
Develops working prototypes or detailed plans and outlines testing for compliance with requirements
Plans and schedules projects, tests and changes to optimize utilization while meeting established time schedules and budgets
Performs project planning considering schedule, cost and resource constraints
Provides technical feedback and consultation to other organizations involved in system design or implementation activities
Prepares product documentation, operating instructions and reviews related technical literature
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, related field of study will be acceptable with experience
A minimum of two (2) years of hands‑on experience with mechanical systems or industrial/commercial engineering experience, HVAC preferred
Current technical knowledge and skills relative to business requirements and state of the art information technologies
Ability in modeling, theoretical reasoning in a support, creation and design function of complex systems and ability to operate utilizing several modeling techniques with capabilities to help users model in their own domains and in their own language
High level of self‑motivation and integrity
Effective and professional communication and organizational skills are required
Ability to troubleshoot, collaborate and brainstorm with other team members
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Strong interpersonal skills and decision‑making ability
