Overview H&K Group, Inc. seeks a Bridge Carpenter Foreperson to train and direct a crew constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing wood, plywood, and wallboard structures and fixtures in heavy civil and highway construction projects.

Responsibilities
Perform all work according to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
Read blueprints and job-related documents to plan work
Record daily events in job diary
Schedule materials, equipment, and work for the crew
Develop crew SIP's and submit to site Foreperson
Track daily quantities and submit to site Foreperson
Conduct daily huddles with crew to establish production goals
Communicate goals and purposes effectively; lead by example
Influence and enforce company values; rectify misalignments
Proactively train and mentor crew members to enhance skills
Communicate with customer representatives and inspectors courteously and professionally
Perform other duties of crew members as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required Skills, Education, and Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university OR one year of related experience and/or training
Working knowledge of safety and efficient crew direction
Ability to read blueprints and job documents
Ability to operate surveying instrument, shoot elevations and straight lines
Experience with pile driving and drilling equipment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated leadership ability
Problem solving
Basic computer skills including internet, email, and digital camera documentation
Driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to travel as required for projects
Physical fitness to meet job demands (movement, lifting, PPE use)
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience
2+ years of relevant experience and/or training
Experience operating heavy equipment used in highway construction
Supervisory experience
OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands and reach; speak and hear
Occasionally required to sit and lift/move up to 50 pounds
Vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, focus adjustment
Work Environment
Regularly exposed to outdoor conditions and high precarious places
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles
Noise level usually moderate
