Position Overview The department seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses such as:
KAC Instructor – teaching a variety of activity courses ranging from dance to basketball; see the University course catalog for class offerings.
Lecturer – instructing students in specialized Kinesiology focused courses/labs; see the University course catalog for class offerings.
Other classes as identified to fulfill educational goals.
Instructor Responsibility Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system-wide policies. Instructors are responsible for preparing, delivering, conducting, proctoring, and grading lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester, in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid).
Compensation Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and within the salary range for Class Code 2358 (Academic Year Lecturers). For a temporary faculty with a master’s degree, the monthly salary range is $5,507–$6,677 when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Actual salary will be adjusted based on WTUs assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Master’s degree or higher in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education, Sport Psychology, Athletic Training, or a related field.
Experience
Demonstrated commitment to excellence, diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunity.
For KAC Instructors: Specialized experience in the topic being taught.
Preferred Qualifications
Current Physical Education credential for supervision of student teachers.
Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association for instructors who teach strength and conditioning.
Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.
Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
Expertise in a closely related Kinesiology discipline.
