Educational and Experience Requirements Associates degree in a related field; Bachelors degree preferred. Three years of relevant administrative assistant experience or experience in a related field. Experience in an academic setting preferred.

Nature & Purpose of Position Performs advanced administrative assistant duties for the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology.

Primary Responsibilities

Performs advanced administrative assistant duties.

Provides departmental or university information to students, faculty, and staff.

Schedules and plans activities.

Interprets policies and procedures.

Assists in building the departmental course schedule each semester.

Prepares departmental electronic personnel action forms (ePAFs).

Compiles, tracks, and reviews data and reports.

Maintains multiple databases.

Attends meetings and takes notes.

Prepares, reviews, revises, and distributes documents and correspondence.

Orders and maintains supply inventory.

Maintains workroom operations.

Oversees departmental budgets and financial transactions.

Handles P‑Card purchases and monitors expenses.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications Must be able to work independently, think critically to solve problems, address matters proactively, communicate well, and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Must use standard office software, including Microsoft Office Suite. Requires good knowledge of and ability to apply policies and procedures and to solve routine problems. Requires general knowledge of standard office functions.
