Logistics & Warehouse Associate - Data Center Location: Portland, Oregon, United States of America.

Job Summary The purpose of this position is to manage the Warehouse Operations: shipping/receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment and/or other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. Responsible for the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods.

Position: Non‑Exempt. Use: Energy and Sustainability ONLY.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepares documents and shipping orders.

Packs, seals, and labels materials for shipping using the most cost‑effective method via US Mail, UPS, FedEx or other carriers.

Examines contents and compares with records to verify accuracy of outgoing shipments.

Determines shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates.

Records shipment data such as weight, charges, space availability, damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting and record‑keeping.

Contacts carrier representatives to make arrangements and issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.

Confers and corresponds with required representatives to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance specifications.

Requisitions and stores shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock. Keeps records on use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.

Receives all material and compares to packing list. Examines and inspects received items for breakage, reports any damage to purchasing agent, marks, packs and unpacks items to be stocked on shelves according to corporate standards.

Layouts and builds control panels according to designs provided by engineering. Wires panels according to designs and appropriate regulatory standards in a neat and workmanlike manner.

Marks all project shelves with job number, job name and PM assigned to the project.

Any material transferred to or from any stock location must be properly documented within the accounting system and/or a packing list prepared for shipment to the customer.

Issues or distributes materials, products, parts and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions.

Other duties may be assigned.

No formal supervisory responsibilities; may provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, training to coworkers, coordinate and assign tasks to co‑workers within a work unit and/or project.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum 3 years related experience in warehouse, shipping and receiving.

Technical training: completed certificate or diploma in HVAC controls, electrical controls and/or mechanical systems application and design.

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; no restrictions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational and analytical skills.

Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers; ability to present information effectively.

Understanding of the structure and content of the English language, including meanings, spelling, grammar rules.

Active listening skills.

Financial knowledge: basic terms and principles, ability to calculate percentages, discounts, commissions and conduct basic financial analysis.

Reasoning ability: comprehend, analyze, interpret documents; solve problems; use logical reasoning.

Problem‑solving skills; identify problems and evaluate options.

Strong organization, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, changing environment.

Typing 55–65 wpm; 10‑key operation.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Office suite; Microsoft Dynamics helpful.
