Job Summary The purpose of this position is to manage the Warehouse Operations: shipping/receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. Responsible for the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Prepares documents and shipping orders. Packs, seals, and labels materials for shipping using the most cost‑effective method via US Mail, UPS, FedEx or other carriers.
Examines contents and compares with records to verify accuracy of outgoing shipments.
Determines shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates.
Records shipment data (weight, charges, space availability, damages and discrepancies) for reporting, accounting and record‑keeping.
Contacts carrier representatives to make arrangements and issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
Confers and corresponds with representatives to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and non‑conformance specifications.
Requisitions and stores shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock; keeps records on use and/or damage of stock or handling equipment.
Receives all material and compares to packing list; examines and inspects received items for breakage, reporting any damage to purchasing agent; marks, packs and unpacks items to be stocked on shelves according to corporate standards.
Layouts and builds control panels according to engineering designs; wires panels per designs and regulatory standards in a neat and workmanlike manner.
Marks all project shelves with job number, job name and PM assigned to the project; ensures the area where material is placed is clearly marked to avoid accidental removal for another project.
Documents any material transferred to or from stock locations within the accounting system, and/or prepares a packing list for shipment to the customer.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Issues or distributes materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers based on incoming requisitions.
May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers, and may coordinate and assign tasks within a work unit or project.
Other duties may be assigned. No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years related work experience in warehouse, shipping and receiving.
Technical training: certificate or diploma in HVAC controls, electrical controls and/or mechanical systems application and design.

Communication Skills
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record for applicable vehicles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers; present information effectively.
Knowledge of English language structure and content; active listening skills.
Financial Knowledge
Knowledge of financial terms and principles; ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions; basic financial analysis.
Working knowledge of arithmetic.
Reasoning Ability
Comprehends, analyzes, and interprets documents; solves problems involving multiple options.
Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills; critical thinking using logic and reasoning to evaluate solutions.
Other Skills And Abilities
Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy; meets deadlines with multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Works closely with customers, subcontractors, engineers, designers, project managers, sales, shipping, receiving, and panel shop to facilitate on‑time and on‑budget projects.
Scope Of Responsibility
Knowledge of computer hardware and software, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Microsoft Dynamics; can type 55–65 wpm and use a 10‑key.
Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve results and deadlines.
