THE EMPLOYER IS: BANGOR CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LTDThe Bangor Chamber of Commerce is seeking a proactive and strategic Development Manager to drive growth, strengthen business engagement and support the Chamber's mission to promote a vibrant local economy. This role focuses on developing partnerships, expanding membership, securing funding opportunities, and delivering projects that benefit businesses across the Bangor area.The ideal candidate will be a motivated, relationship-focused professional with strong leadership, communication and project management skills.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and delivery of initiatives that support business growth within the Bangor area. Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, stakeholders and community partners. Identify new membership opportunities and support existing members to maximise engagement. Oversee project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. Research and pursue funding, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities. Represent the Chamber at meetings, events and external forums. Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and committees to deliver Chamber objectives. Support event planning, including networking sessions, workshops, and business forums. Produce high quality reports, proposals, and promotional materials. Skills and Qualifications
Ability to identify growth opportunities and develop strategies to enhance membership and revenue. Experience in setting measurable goals and delivering results. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport. Comfortable working with business leaders, public sector partners and community groups. Skilled in negotiation, networking and partnership building. Able to lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets and objectives are met. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams. Confident in delivering presentations, leading meetings and representing the organisation publicly. Experience within the Chamber of Commerce, business membership organisation, or economic development role. Knowledge of local Bangor and North Wales business landscape. Further Information
