Assistant Professor, Health Care Administration (Tenure-Track)
Position Summary: One HCA faculty member on phased retirement and a second full‑time faculty resigned, leaving no full‑time faculty in the healthcare administration program. The program has no Director and is run exclusively by adjuncts.
Responsibilities
Teach courses in health care administration, including but not limited to biostatistics, data analytics, research methods, and health informatics.
Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, guiding their academic progress and career development.
Participate in curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement of the department’s programs.
Serve on departmental, college, and university committees as part of faculty governance.
Engage in community outreach and professional service activities that enhance the department’s role in the health care community.
Maintain an active professional presence in the field, attending conferences and workshops to stay current with industry trends.
Occasional Duties Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the director of the Health Care Administration program.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Good teaching skills and ability to impart knowledge to undergraduate students, as well as fulfill all other job functions.
Ability to teach quantitative courses including biostatistics, data analytics, and research methods.
Required Qualifications
A Ph.D. or DrPH in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Health Services Research, or a closely related field, or an MS/MBA with a focus on healthcare management.
Evidence of successful teaching experience in higher education.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and community stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in one or more areas of healthcare management such as health care finance, policy analysis, data analytics, or health care quality improvement.
Experience with in‑person teaching and curriculum development.
Environmental Conditions The program is offered in a traditional laboratory and teaching facility.
Proposed Compensation Minimum salary for rank: Assistant Professor – $69,871.73. May be eligible for additional compensation based on prior collegiate level or industry specific experience.
