Job Description The chosen candidate will be responsible for leading bar operations at Alibi Truckee or Alibi Incline. The bar manager maintains inventory and standard operating procedures for the bar. The bar manager is the key contact for all beverages. The bar manager is also responsible for the cleanliness of the bar, walk‑in cooler, beer lines and any bar storage areas. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic leader, knowledgeable and passionate about craft beer, has excellent computer and communication skills, and is an all‑around team player.

Duties & Responsibilities Leadership & Brand Representation Uphold and exemplify the

Represent Alibi Ale Works as a brand ambassador in all guest, vendor, and team interactions.

Serve as

Manager on Duty (MOD)

at least once per week to support leadership coverage.

Participate in bi‑weekly location leadership meetings.

Act as a liaison between the Events Coordinator and clients as needed.

Partner closely with the General Manager to proactively communicate staffing concerns, operational issues, safety matters, and other pertinent business updates.

Guest Experience & Service Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting, serving, and selling Alibi offerings in a warm, welcoming manner.

Treat every guest like a regular, creating a consistent and memorable experience.

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of food and beverage menus, allergens, and dietary restrictions.

Sell and deliver food and beverage items accurately and efficiently.

Resolve guest concerns professionally, turning challenges into positive guest experiences.

Accurately issue bills and process payments through the POS system.

Beverage Program & Financial Management Manage Draft Beer, Canned Beer, Cider, Wine, and Non‑Alcoholic beverage line items on the monthly P&L.

Perform audits and analysis to meet or exceed budgeted goals.

Monitor sales trends and inventory levels to guide ordering, pricing, and menu adjustments.

Order and maintain all beverages weekly, including beer, wine, cider, kombucha, and NA beverages.

Maintain strong relationships with beverage vendors, including coordination with Alibi’s Beer Traffic Controller.

Complete accurate monthly bar inventory and submit values to the GM within 48 hours.

Team Training & Development Maintain strong knowledge of craft beer and related products and stay current on new and returning Alibi offerings.

Train and onboard all new bar staff on craft beer knowledge, Alibi standards, and bar operations.

Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to bartenders to minimize waste, reduce loss, and meet or exceed forecasted budgets.

Support team performance through feedback, accountability, and positive leadership.

Operations, SOPs & Compliance Complete opening and closing duties in accordance with established SOPs.

Update SOPs as needed and hold the team accountable for compliance.

Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws, food safety standards, and health regulations.

Support scheduling and labor management by adjusting staffing levels based on business demand.

Assist the GMappointing ensuring legally compliant break scheduling and labor practices.

Monitor responsible alcohol service and address safety or compliance issues as they arise.

Inventory, Cleanliness & Maintenance 듣> Oversee cleanliness and organization of the bar, walk‑in cooler, keg room, beer lines, and all bar storage areas.

Ensure bi‑weekly beer line cleanings are completed.

Order bar chemicals and supplies weekly and maintain vendor communication.

Maintain safe, clean, and organized keg room and bar operations.

Identify equipment maintenance needs and communicate repairs or service issues to the GM.

Qualifications Required: Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to use a computer with basic competency. High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior experience with Alibi Ale Works as a bartender, bar lead, or comparable role. Craft beer knowledge and appreciation, extended knowledge of beer. Knowledge of policies, procedures and laws applicable to the service of alcohol, safe food handling, health standards and other related topics. Flexible schedule must be able to work evening, weekends, and holidays. Team player, ability to effectively communicate with managers and co‑workers.

Preferred: Prior job experience in brewery or tap room. Certifications in related industry preferred, i.e. Cicerone. Takes initiative for self‑development in areas of craft beer and industry sales.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Candidates should be able to work in a fast‑paced environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time. Possesses professional appearance and demeanor. The selected candidate will be required to pass a post‑offer, pre‑employment background check. And must obtain Alcohol and Food Serving Certification. For this position at Alibi Ale Works, candidates must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
