Job Description Assists the Technical Manager in daily maintenance activities. Provides direction and training for work to employees in positions of lesser responsibility.
Major Responsibilities
Demonstrated competency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair for production and support equipment with an emphasis on electrical and electronics technologies.
Utilizes safe work practices and maintains high standards of integrity and professionalism.
Works under general supervision on projects that are typically complex and require original thinking and action.
Receives general directions on unusual or new assignments; works independently on most activities.
Fills in for Technical Manager and attends meetings as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Follows all company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance. Performs duties in a safe manner and reports all observed safety hazards.
Proactively troubleshoots, repairs, and corrects mechanical, electrical, and process problems to ensure equipment capability.
Troubleshoots electronics down to the component level to determine causes and remedies.
Troubleshoots PLC issues, including code modifications and program reloading (AB and Siemens).
Troubleshoots and repairs electrical breakdowns of AC/DC drives and inverters, configuration and tuning.
Maintains, updates, and catalogs all PLC software/programs.
Sets up, configures, and tunes servo drive motors/controls (Rexroth/Bosch MLD/MLC desirable).
Designs electrical circuits for equipment upgrades and safety improvements.
Designs and installs electromechanical upgrades, including DC‑to‑AC upgrades and PLC installations.
Operates meters, power supplies, service monitors, and test fixtures.
Maintains a working knowledge of plant operating systems and keeps diagram/schematic records current.
Works with contractors on repair, installation, and upgrades.
Provides 24/7 technical support.
Inspects production lines and performs preventive maintenance repairs.
Operates hand tools and small power tools.
Leads assembly, installation, disassembly, and demolition of equipment.
Maintains a neat and orderly work area; may be assigned housekeeping responsibilities.
Maintains building and grounds.
Participates in employee‑driven teams for scrap, quality, safety, or production issues.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Education And/or Experience
High School diploma or GED required.
Associate degree or certificate in Electrical/Electronics technology or equivalent preferred.
Journeyman certification preferred.
Eight years minimum work experience in industrial maintenance, including troubleshooting and repair of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
Experience with blown film manufacturing and converting equipment is a plus.

Willingness to work overtime, rotate on‑call with maintenance staff.
Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting (up to 40 lb unassisted, up to 100 lb with assistance). Requires use of hand tools and specific vision (color vision). May need to climb ladders, work from a lift, or operate in confined spaces.
Work Environment High consciousness for safety. Frequent exposure to electrical shock, wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and weather. Requires PPE (hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses). May work weekends/holidays with flexible hours.
