POSITION SUMMARY:
Produce & develop highly functional food service designs, working plans and equipment specifications. Advise clients with smartly designed food service space plans. The designs will utilize the latest technological advances in equipment and current flow and ergonomic concepts to ensure that kitchen production capabilities, labor and energy efficiency will be maximized
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales and Design of Food Service Projects and Consultant Services to existing and new clients
Programming and Designing of institutional and commercial kitchens
Explain and sell design process
Align with SOTF Regional New Business Development team to drive additional volume through national and regional account prospecting and development
Ascertain customers’ needs and preferences through effective listening and recommending appropriate foodservice equipment
Create efficient foodservice equipment floor plans that meet customer’s budget
Coordinate with architects and engineers, estimators, installers and appropriate construction trades
Produce Schematic Design Drawings from AutoCAD that will be utilized by the Equipment & Supply Consultant Team.
Prepare foodservice equipment budgets
Obtain field measurements as needed
Attend job meetings as required
Review quotes and approve manufacturer shop drawings for accuracy of proper equipment description and physical requirements
Manage shop drawing approval process timely to ensure installation deadlines are not missed
Design utilizing preferred vendors
Conduct site visits and punch list during installation of project as needed or per customer requirements
Expected to grow capabilities to perform position with greater efficiency annually
Other duties as assigned by Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred (2 Year Culinary Arts Degree acceptable) with a minimum 5-7+ years’ experience in food service design or related experience in the design of food service kitchens.
Proficient in AutoCAD 2012 or higher, knowledge of Revit, BIM and Sketch Up a plus.
Knowledge of commercial kitchen design is required
Knowledge of related Codes required
Must be able to read Architectural and Engineering Drawings
Strong working knowledge of general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
Demonstrate the ability to design and specify a variety of Food Service Projects
Demonstrate knowledge of the applications of food service equipment
Demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with the Architectural Community, Clients, Staff and Management
Demonstrate the ability to work well with the staff
Meet goals and deadlines and work towards updating organizational processes
Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively interfacing with a remote staff.
Demonstrated experience on food service specification platforms i.e. KCL.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Flexible in schedule to enable the company to meet customer needs – overtime and weekends may be necessary and required
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office product & Auto Quotes
Foster positive relations and communications with departmental personnel, IT, Purchasing, Installers, Sales, Marketing, and other SOTF departments
Strong relationship building skills with customers, general contractors, architects, manufacturers and vendors, and other trades on job sites
