Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (100% on site)

Hiring Range: $28.00 per hour

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit This position serves as part of the Life Safety/Electronics‑Specialty Shop team, ensuring the smooth operation of critical safety and monitoring systems across campus. The role involves both preventive maintenance and hands‑on installations or modifications to essential systems that support the safety, security, and functionality of the university.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine and preventive maintenance inspections on Life Safety Systems, Fire Detection and Suppression Systems, Security Systems, CCTV (Closed‑Circuit Television) Systems, Equipment Monitoring Systems and other electronic subsystems.

Install, maintain, and modify fire detection and suppression systems, Life Safety equipment, card access systems, CCTV and equipment monitoring tools.

Respond to repair requests and troubleshoot issues with various electronic components to ensure systems operate at peak performance.

Coordinate with other teams and vendors to guarantee timely inspections and installations.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or completion of GED.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Experience working with security systems and CCTV systems.

Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot electronic systems.

Knowledge of safety codes and regulations related to Life Safety systems is preferred.

Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Experience working with fire alarm systems.
