This is a
remote role open to candidates located within the 48 contiguous United States , with occasional travel (at least 10%, approximately one week per quarter) to customer sites, fabrication facilities, or field locations.
What You’ll Do
Lead mechanical design for
cranes, lifting beams, hoists, and rigging systems
Create 3D models & drawings in
SolidWorks, Inventor, or Creo
Run
FEA, load calculations, and structural analysis
Manage projects from concept to delivery — including fabrication and field support
Collaborate with customers, vendors, and fabrication teams
Support testing, commissioning, and incident investigations
Support fabrication shops and field teams across the Houston region
Must-Have Qualifications
10+ years of mechanical design experience in cranes, lifting systems, or heavy equipment
U.S. Citizen or Green Card
Proficiency in SolidWorks, Inventor, or Creo
Ability to travel ~10%
Bonus Experience
Offshore, industrial, or construction lifting background
Familiarity with
gantry systems, winches, PLC-integrated equipment
Experience writing
work packs, test plans, and field documentation
Preferred Experience
Background in offshore, industrial, or construction lifting environments.
Experience generating work packs, test reports, and technical documentation for field execution.
Familiarity with cranes, hoists, lifting beams, gantry systems, or custom rigging solutions.
Exposure to FEA, data acquisition, or PLC-integrated mechanical systems.
Work Environment
Fully remote (USA only)
Occasional travel to customers' facilities or field sites
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across fabrication and field operations
