Southern Arizona | Open Pit Mining Operation An established open pit mining operation in Southern Arizona is seeking an experienced Mine Maintenance Superintendent to lead mill maintenance and reliability activities. This is a senior site-based role with full accountability for fixed plant maintenance strategy, execution, and continuous improvement in a high-throughput concentrator environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving equipment reliability, improving asset availability, and embedding best-practice maintenance systems across milling and process plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all maintenance activities across mill and fixed plant operations including crushing, grinding, flotation, thickening, filtration, tailings and material handling

Own site maintenance and reliability strategy with a strong focus on uptime, asset availability, and cost control

Manage maintenance planning and scheduling, shutdowns, major rebuilds, and outage execution

Drive reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), preventive and predictive maintenance programs

Lead root cause analysis (RCA), failure investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives

Partner closely with mill operations, metallurgy, and engineering to align maintenance priorities with production targets

Manage maintenance budgets, contractors, spare parts, and warehouse strategy

Lead, develop, and mentor maintenance supervisors, planners, and hourly trades

Ensure compliance with MSHA, safety standards, and site procedures

Champion a strong safety culture and operational discipline

Required Experience & Qualifications

10+ years of maintenance leadership experience in mining, minerals processing, or heavy industrial environments

Strong background in mill / concentrator maintenance (fixed plant)

Proven experience implementing reliability and asset management best practices

Experience with CMMS systems, maintenance planning, and KPI-driven performance management

Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems; electrical and instrumentation exposure preferred

Demonstrated ability to lead large maintenance teams and contractors in a union or mixed workforce environment

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related discipline preferred

Preferred Experience

Copper concentrator or large-scale base metals processing experience

Exposure to predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, oil analysis, thermography)

Experience supporting brownfield operations and life-of-mine extensions

Familiarity with capital projects and major equipment installations
