Employment with Mid North Coast LHD requires candidates to hold a valid authority to work in Australia (Aust Work Rights Visa).

About the Role As the Child Protection and Child Wellbeing Coordinator for the Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD), you will act as a key contact and specialist resource for child protection and child wellbeing matters. The role provides expert advice on mandatory reporting responsibilities, available health services and referral pathways, while ensuring compliance with child protection and child wellbeing key performance indicators.

This position coordinates and supports health services to recognise and respond to child and young person safety, welfare and wellbeing concerns through consultation, education, and the development and maintenance of resources.

The role facilitates alignment and coordination of agency systems relating to child protection and wellbeing, contributes to projects within PARVAN, and supports initiatives aligned with the Child Safe Standards, Keep Them Safe, and Close the Gap.

The coordinator represents MNCLHD at child protection forums, including NSW Health and interagency networks at local, state and national levels as appropriate. The role is also the responsible Line Manager for the MNCLHD Central Contact Policy position (Child Protection Information Exchange Officer), managing performance and conduct in line with MNCLHD policies and within allocated financial resources.

About You You will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field or possess equivalent professional experience. You will need to demonstrate a high level of leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. You are required to be highly organised, with well-developed time management skills that enable you to meet tight deadlines, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within defined resources.

You have a proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within high-performing teams, with the capacity to motivate, coordinate and support staff to achieve shared objectives. You are highly competent in the use of computer systems and a range of software applications and hold a current driver’s licence and have the ability to travel as required and are willing to participate in an on-call roster.
