CRUNCH FITNESS – Instructional Designer WORK LOCATION:

This role offers the flexibility to be home-based anywhere in the U.S. If you’re near our Jacksonville, FL, New York, NY, Portsmouth, NH, or Dallas, TX offices, we follow a hybrid model with three days a week in the office.

YOUR IMPACT At Crunch, we believe learning should be FUN! The Instructional Designer is responsible for the planning and development of innovative, engaging, and interactive learning modules with a primary focus on eLearning to create scalable, measurable learning solutions that drive performance and behavior change. This includes, but is not limited to, gamification, creating video, animations, simulations and graphics to drive impact and continue to elevate our learning experiences across the network. The Instructional Designer will apply sound instructional design principles to execute on the development and implementation of learning projects.

Instructional Design & Content

Create innovative, engaging, and interactive training content (eLearning, microlearning, blended learning, tutorials, voiceovers, graphics, simulations, animations, etc.) to support diverse learning styles

Apply tested instructional design theories, practices, and methodologies

Recommend exercises and activities that enhance the learning process

Create supplemental job aids as needed

Source and/or create images and visuals to enhance the learning experience

Curriculum Design & SME Collaboration

Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to analyze, design, develop, and evaluate curriculum and eLearning materials

Partner with SMEs to write and develop eLearning content that maximizes retention and supports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Ensure training meets the needs of a multigenerational workforce with varying levels of experience and expertise

Project Management & Delivery

Manage all project timelines and coordinate with internal stakeholders and contractors to ensure schedule adherence

Act as project manager throughout the full lifecycle of eLearning course development

Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

Maintain project documentation and course folders

Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

Learning Management System (LMS) & Platform Engagement

Test and launch all new and updated courses

Manage the informal learning area of the LMS by creating and posting videos, animations, and images

Drive LMS adoption and promote a culture of continuous learning

Quality Assurance, Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Monitor company process changes and proactively update existing eLearning content

Troubleshoot issues related to eLearning courses

Ensure accuracy, functionality, and relevance of all learning materials

Communication & Change Enablement

Draft network communications announcing new or updated courses

Support learners and stakeholders during course launches and updates

Training Evaluation & Effectiveness

Monitor training activities and assess training effectiveness

Evaluate learning outcomes and alignment with business objectives

Coaching, Mentorship & Team Support

Provide coaching and mentoring to team members on instructional design best practices and methodologies

Support learning development and implementation across the team

Research, Innovation & Continuous Improvement

Research and stay current on learning and development software, technology, and industry best practices

Continuously recommend improvements to learning strategies and tools

Administrative & Special Projects

Perform special projects, assignments, and administrative tasks based on business needs

WHAT YOU’LL NEED Requirements

BS or MA degree in instructional design, multimedia design, graphic design art or similar

Proven work experience in instructional design and with instructional technology such as Articulate, Adobe Captivate or Camtasia

Strong project and budget management experience

Excellent knowledge of adult learning concepts and instructional design methodologies

Lesson and curriculum planning skills

Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System

Visual design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard

Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts

Proven work experience downloading SCORMs and uploading to LMS systems

Proven ability to translate complex or technical content into simplified, engaging learning experiences

Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills

Strong attention to detail skills

Experience in gamifying e-learning experiences

Experience with software to create motion graphics and other engaging elements to level up courses

Knowledge in Java Script

Docebo LMS experience

Canva experience

Project Management software experience (Asana, SmartSheets, etc.)
