Interact directly with inmates and visitors. Direct and maintain security in cellblocks, housing units, cottages, work areas, dining and recreation areas by monitoring inmate movement and activities. Observe inmate behavior through periodic and unannounced rounds, head counts, and security checks and report any anomalies to a corrections officer. Work a 40‑hour week on scheduled shifts, including all required shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and adverse weather conditions. Participate in formal instruction in sociology, psychology, court procedures, self‑defense, leadership, custodial responsibilities, and the facility’s organizational structure. Provide advice and guidance to inmates to help them adjust to correctional processes and the Department’s rules and regulations. Prepare written reports and respond to emergency situations. Qualifications & Requirements

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. Ability to perform essential job functions. PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. Legal Requirements

Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements. Complete a medical examination, psychological evaluation, and urinalysis screening for drugs. Pay and Benefits

Starting hourly rate $22.97. Shift differential up to $1.25 per hour. Full‑time employment with uniforms provided. Eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, dental and wellness programs. Interview Process
