Summary A Nurse Practitioner functions as part of the interdisciplinary health‑care team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high quality, cost‑effective care to patients within the APP’s scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physicianamericana. The APP reflects the mission, vision, and values of the organization and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
Clinical:
Obtain relevant health and medical history, perform thorough physical assessment, review and aatsaat interpret diagnostic tests, develop differential diagnoses, create and implement evidence‑based treatment plans, prescribe/order medications consistent with departmental guidelines, conduct preventive screenings, maintain comprehensive records, participate in productivity projects, and perform medical procedures per privileging and clinical roles.
Education:
Professionally educate clients and/or families about medical conditions and care, collaborate with clinicians and staff to promote continuity of patient‑centered care, develop educational materials, and provide instruction to physicians, housestaff, nurses, ancillary staff, and students.
Leadership:
Provide instruction and leadership to physicians, housestaff, nurses, ancillaries, and students through precepting, shadowing, lectures, training, CE, rounds, morning reports, and staff meetings; engage in community/network outreach and systems improvement initiatives.
Professional:
Interact with patients, families, and team members in a respectful, courteous, and timely manner; resolve problems quickly, accept responsibility for outcomes, and share workload as needed.
Quality/Research:
Engage in continuous quality improvement, consult with management to solve clinical/system issues, lead interdisciplinary teams, revise protocols and guidelines, influence policy‑making, and develop new clinical programs or services.
Preferred Qualifications
PA or ACNP strongly preferred.
Other Information
Education Requirements:
Completion of an accredited graduate‑level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) in the state of North Carolina.
Board certification if required by the Department.
DEA registration.
Professional Experience Requirements:
No prior experience required.
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities Requirements:
Demonstrated clinical competency.
Effective leadership, strong interpersonal, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Documentation in the medical record to substantiate accurate billing.
