CEI Inspector - Utilities

Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
Duties/Responsibilities :
Ability to read and interpret roadway and structure plans, contract specifications, schedules and quantities
Monitor the contractor’s on-site construction activities and performing inspections to ensure conformance to project plans and specifications and document process
Prepare daily field reports
Ensure quality assurance is met for project
Meets scheduling and attendance requirements
Understands and interprets schematic drawings
Work on interstate widening project that requires utility monitoring
Inspect installation of all utilities on the project
Education/Experience
High School Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline. 3+ years of related work experience in utilities inspection as a part of an interstate improvement project. Experienced in GDOT manuals, specifications and protocols Familiar with traffic control plans including but not limited to traffic shifts, detours, lane closures or other activities that disrupt traffic flow Knowledge of the properties, characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses of the materials used in construction Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable Familiar with GDOT Utility Coordination procedures during construction Physical Requirements
Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments Ability to carry required instruments and equipment Ability to lift 50 pounds Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
