Responsibilities
You will conduct routine, complex, and sensitive investigations of reported violations of state statutes and regulations governing licensees of state boards within agency established time guidelines, specifically, with the following boards and commissions: Real Estate, Real Estate Appraisers, Architectural Examiners, Engineers and Surveyors, Landscape Architectural Examiners, Soil Classifiers, and related professions.
You will draft subpoenas for relevant documents and interview witnesses, prepare written reports detailing findings of investigations, and maintain updated case files for all investigations.
You will work with various officials and agencies on the local, state, and federal level.
You will attend and present case findings to the Investigative Review Committee (IRC).
You will work closely with Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) to receive advice regarding legal issues or questions about sufficiency of evidence.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma and experience conducting investigations or performing other law enforcement duties. (A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required work experience.)
Preferred Qualifications
Prior investigative experience or experience conducting regulatory investigations and knowledge of real estate, real estate appraisers, and related work or professions.
Considerable knowledge of acceptable legal principles and practices.
Ability to establish good relations with officials and the public.
Other Requirements
Must have a valid driver's license and 10-year MVR that complies with State and Agency Fleet guidelines.
Must be able to drive a state or personal vehicle to complete assigned job duties.
May require extended periods of driving, sitting, and visiting facilities that are non-ADA compliant.
May need to bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to 50 lbs.
