Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis. Individual will be trained to lead and support the E37 welder qualification records management system. Job requires ability to perform data entry and filing. Additionally, will work with training and trade representatives as needed to support overall program health and compliance. Individual will also receive training in other administrative duties for department support including security representative, IT computer oversight, etc. Must Have
Associate's Degree and 1 year of relevant experience. One of the following may be used as equivalent to an Associate's Degree: NNS Apprentice School graduate Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience Nice to Have / Preferred Experience
Knowledge of ship construction/deckplate experience Familiarity with welding operations/ship structure Trades experience or Apprentice School graduate is desirable Strong communication skills Why HII
