Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Perform all steps of drywall finishing as a team.
Understand the five levels of finishing and demonstrate each.
Utilize tools such as bazookas, banjos, flat and angle boxes, corner rollers, and power sanders.
Experience with all types and ranges of commercial drywall finishing.
Measure and mark surface to finish and level of finish work according to blueprints and drawings.
Inspect drywall surfaces for imperfections (screw heads, misaligned joints, bad hanging, etc.) and mark drywall surface with pencil prior to starting.
Understand the right joint compound (quick‑set, lightweight, or standard) to be used in appropriate situations.
Eliminate visible joints, avoid air bubbles, keep taped edges blister‑free, and finish switch and receptacle boxes tightly.
Install corner bead, trim bead and reveal bead straight, plumb and tight using string lines, laser, square, or straight edge.
Work independently on job sites.
Oversee less experienced installers and laborers.
Coordinate with GC and other subcontractors regarding project expectations.
Patch/repair existing drywall to like‑new appearance.
Requirements / Experience
Must have at least three years of experience and skill with production finishing; considered a specialist in the field.
Experience working safely with stilts, baker scaffolding, and ladders.
Positive attitude and commitment to acquire trade knowledge and quality excellence.
Compliant with safety procedures.
Work in a team environment.
Demonstrate solid verbal and written communication skills; listens to instruction.
Dependable transportation.
Being bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Mandatory Tools Finishing knives, mud pan, mixer, sanding pole, laser line, snips, utility knife, chalk box, tape measure, tape holder.
