What You'll Do
Build Rolling Mill Stands to meet startup and production requirements using impacts, long wrenches, levels, hydraulics, and hand tools
Conduct thorough inspection of mill stands, guides and all associated equipment as per drawings and standards in order to determine needed repairs
Clean and inspect mill stands and guides that are returned to the shop from the mill floor
Make all needed repairs to mill stands and guiding equipment making use of blue prints reading
Prepare guides for use on upcoming product rollings
Train others how to use the equipment necessary to maintain safe and effective rolling mill operations
Recommend or refine crew recommendations for equipment, systems and process ideas that support continuous improvement
Maintain a sustainable level of organization and cleanliness in working area
What You'll Need
1 year or more of field experience in an operations and manufacturing environment required.
Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane.
Strong analytical and planning skills
Must read, speak and understand English language in verbal and written communication
Must be willing to learn and tackle new challenges
Is organized and shows attention to detail, with a "get it right the first time" mindset
Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
Works well with team members or independently: gives an receives feedback in a constructive manner
Makes timely and sound decisions; uses resources wisely
Displays a positive, can-do attitude; maintains composure when faced with difficult situations
Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift
Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
Push and pull up to 90 lbs and carry 50 lbs
Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
Your Education
High School Diploma or GED required
