Intake Specialist - QMHP

Job Summary Intake specialists are Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP) who provide services to individuals diagnosed with severe mental illnesses who may also have co‑occurring substance use disorders and/or chronic health conditions. Intake specialists complete a variety of clinical assessments with clients to determine eligibility of services. If criteria is met, the intake specialist will coordinate on‑going care.
Responsibilities
Assess psychiatric need
Gather psychosocial history
Evaluate individual strengths, needs, and goals
Define and facilitate desired life outcomes
Coordinate and manage client crises when they arise
Identify potential service gaps and advocate with providers to ensure services are appropriate and adequate to clients' needs and preferences
Work under general supervision of the unit manager and/or LPHA supervisor; moderate latitude for initiative and independent judgment
Ideal Candidate

Interests in gaining clinical experience for advanced licensure

Education
Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
License
Current and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Experience
Bilingual preferred.
Employment Requirements
Regular, predictable attendance is essential.
May require a flexible work schedule.
Master’s level clinicians eligible for clinical supervision toward advanced licensure and may provide living skills training under LPHA supervision.
Work Schedule Hours : Full‑Time
Workdays : Monday – Friday
Work hours : 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation $24.18 – $25.39 an hour, based on education.
