SumTur Amphitheater Facility Manager Responsible for supervising the management, operation, and maintenance of the Sumtur Amphitheater, ensuring efficient service delivery and facility safety for the community.

Position Summary

Supervises event preparation, operation, and cleanup of the Sumtur Amphitheater.

Manages staff, cash handling, reporting, and event safety and gate operations.

Ensures cleanliness and security of all facility areas.

Supervises concessions and alcohol sales, maintaining inventory and compliance with Nebraska and City regulations.

Manages stage operations, audio, lighting, and projection; maintains stage inventory and cleanliness.

Coordinates with the Recreation Coordinator on daily opening/closing, maintenance, and mechanical operations.

Enforces hygiene, health, safety, and sanitation policies.

Conducts regular walk‑throughs, reports incidents, and resolves patron complaints.

Assists in the planning and implementation of programs and events.

Performs financial documentation, basic clerical work, and operates city vehicles safely.

Acts as a substitute for other employees and may serve as a lifesaver if assigned to aquatics.

Essential Functions

Schedules work, assigns duties, monitors performance, and recommends disciplinary actions.

Prepares facilities for daily operations and performs maintenance procedures.

Enforces departmental policies and ensures a safe environment for patrons.

Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies; requests requisitions.

Closes unsafe areas and resolves complaints, referring unresolved issues to the Recreation Coordinator.

Assists in recruiting, training, and retaining staff; leads staff meetings and training sessions.

Operates equipment and city vehicles in accordance with legal guidelines.

Participates in citywide special events as needed.

Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of technology and experience with computer software.

Ability to learn, apply, and enforce city, department, and federal policies.

Excellent customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Strong work ethic, initiative, problem‑solving skills, and positive demeanor.

Effective verbal and written communication in English.

Ability to maintain regular attendance under demanding conditions.

Education, Certification & Licenses

Valid driver’s license.

Age 21 or older.

Previous athletic or recreation facility experience preferred.

Previous supervisory experience preferred.

CPR/AED and First Aid certification required within a specified timeframe.

May require Nebraska Pool Operator or American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.

Must maintain all required certifications.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Work outdoors in varying weather; continual physical activity including walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Use hands for operating equipment; moderate to high noise level.

Extensive public interaction; may involve stressful situations with irate patrons.
