Assistant Area Head – Engineering and Electrical Renewables
Join Colchester Institute, a leading provider of education and training. We are looking for a passionate, eco‑conscious educational leader to inspire and drive the development and delivery of a diverse, high‑quality curriculum in Engineering, Welding and Fabrication, Manufacturing and Renewable Technologies (Electrical). Lead a small team of engineering lecturers and design and deliver electrical renewables courses, with a primary focus on commercial, full‑cost projects at our state‑of‑the‑art Net Zero Centre. Lead and support a team of engineering lecturers. Design and deliver electrical renewables courses. Work with commercial, full‑cost projects. Essential Requirements
Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (or equivalent), encompassing an NVQ and AM2 assessment. Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics – GCSE grade 4+ or equivalent. Level 5 Teaching Qualification. Assessor/Verifier Awards or willingness to achieve within six months of starting the position. Essential Experience
Extensive knowledge and experience of current practices and innovations within the Electrical Engineering or Electrical Installation sectors and in Further Education. Proven evidence of effectively leading teams, or the passion, desire, and abilities to transition from a teaching role into a leadership role.
