STV is seeking a
Commercial Project Manager
to join their Major Commercial Project team. This position is designated as
hybrid (3 days week/in office)
and can be located in one of our major national offices which include: New York, NY; Newark, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Atlanta, GA; Florida office; Texas offices; Phoenix, AZ; Denver, CO; Washington state offices; Lake Oswego, OR; California offices.
The Commercial Project Manager role requires knowledge and understanding of all aspects of commercial management, including contracts, risk, progress planning, cost control and reporting methodologies in order to protect and maximize STV financial performance.
Responsibilities
Deliver and administer all commercial and contractual matters for a project, minimizing commercial risk and maximizing opportunity through identification and monitoring of potential risks.
Compile potential change orders and claims, and record & forecast cost to enable accurate performance understanding.
Ensure commercial processes and procedures are adhered to.
Develop a culture of commercial awareness across the project.
In conjunction with the Project Director and Commercial Director, establish a commercial strategy with clear objectives.
Review and respond to all correspondence and meeting records from the Contractor.
Identify commercial risks and opportunities and manage them through to conclusion to minimize STV liability.
Manage the timely submission of potential change orders in accordance with project contractual obligations.
Prepare timely sub‑consultant agreements, coordinating scope with the appropriate engineering staff.
Administer sub‑consultant agreements to ensure liabilities are accurate, payments are made in accordance with agreements, and all necessary notices are issued.
Coordinate the management of claims to ensure responses are provided in a timely manner.
Provide accurate Profit & Loss (P‑L) and Cost to Complete (CTC) reports in accordance with STV procedures.
Ensure accurate records are maintained.
Develop and encourage direct staff to take responsibility for sections of the project.
Fulfil any other task that can be reasonably within the contemplation of the role.
Competencies
Minimum of 10 years’ experience with large‑scale commercial builder contracting, preferably within the AEC market.
Strong financial background with some understanding of contractual law.
Technical knowledge in commercial, contract and risk management.
Exposure to large engineering and construction projects.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to resolve problems independently and operate efficiently under pressure.
Qualifications
Degree in construction, engineering or a related discipline.
Membership of a relevant professional body.
Compensation Range $114,544.55 – $152,726.06
STV is committed to paying all of its employees fairly, equitably and transparently. The listed pay range is STV’s good‑faith salary estimate for this position. The final salary may vary based on geography, education, experience, and/or certifications.
