Project Manager .
As a
Project Manager , you will work with project management principles, methodologies, standards, and best practices in leading and managing all phases of information technology projects. The
Project Manager
will be responsible for performing project management duties on medium to large, complex programs and projects for State of ND customers using established best practices, tools, and guidelines. Projects may range in structure from traditional/waterfall to various agile/hybrid frameworks.
To succeed in this position, you will collaborate across a diverse set of stakeholders, spanning multiple organizational levels, with empathy and advocacy of their needs within a technology-based organization. You will have strong negotiation skills, and an understanding of how to use data for decision-making and influence. You will thrive in a work environment with a continuous workload and be able to effectively manage time to meet established deadlines.
Candidates for this position must live anywhere in North Dakota or a border community (Moorhead, MN, East Grand Forks, ND, etc.). Application materials must clearly show an address in the selected recruiting area or confirm the candidate's ability to relocate to ND or a border community within 30 days of an offer being made. Applications that do not show they meet the location requirement will be declined. If the selected candidate lives within a 50-mile radius of NDIT offices in Bismarck or Fargo, North Dakota they will work on site one day a week. Otherwise, this position will work remotely full time.
Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must have one of the following:
Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of current and progressive related work experience that involved project development, group facilitation, management of staff/resources, project scheduling, vendor management, project status reporting, change management, and communications.
Any combination of education and experience as described above to equal six (6) total years.
Project Management Institute's (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification and public sector experience is preferred but not required.
