The Role
You will manage the Kroger account and its key divisions (Harris Teeter), expand our business with the Giant Eagle account, and maintain the distributor relationship with Central Pet & Garden (CP&G). The role is remote from the Cincinnati, OH/KY metro area.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve overall territory sales targets, customer and category metrics within the approved trade‑spend budget.
Develop, monitor, and revise annual business plans for assigned accounts.
Analyze POS and syndication data; communicate trends, insights, and risks via performance reports.
Identify opportunities for category and line reviews; build compelling selling stories for new business and expanded distribution.
Ensure margins and promotions align with brand strategy and shelf positioning.
Forecast customer events as required.
Build strong relationships with account stakeholders and brokers.
Collaborate with internal Brand and Customer Planning teams and external brokers.
Represent Hartz at industry events and trade shows.
Manage administrative tasks including price change forms, deductions, and selling schedules.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or 2+ years of direct sales experience (or 5+ years direct sales experience in lieu of a degree). Prior Kroger, Harris Teeter, or similar accounts background required.
Kroger & Harris Teeter Systems Proficiency:
Experience with 84.51/Stratum, DemandTec, Prism/KAP/CAAM, LCM/MY Magazine, 1 Sync, Vestcom, Catalina, Circana POS.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Analytical:
Category management, fact‑based selling, POS and syndication data analysis.
Software:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Travel:
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Location:
Must be located in the Cincinnati, OH/KY metro area.
