Position Objective The E-Commerce Business Development Manager leads the digital commerce strategy for consumer and contractor products, driving growth across D2C, retail partner platforms, and marketplaces. This role shapes how our brands engage online, leveraging data, technology, and innovation to deliver seamless, personalized customer experiences and accelerate revenue and profitability.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive eCommerce strategy across owned (D2C) and third‑party platforms (Amazon, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc.) for Home Finishing and Professional Finishing businesses.
Partner with Contractor eCommerce customers and third‑party sellers to balance channel conflict and opportunity, ensuring a consistent, best‑in‑class brand experience.
Align digital initiatives with brand, sales, and fulfillment teams for cohesive execution and digital transformation.
Own the eCommerce business, driving profitable growth across D2C and retail.com channels; optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies tailored to each digital channel.
Expand presence in emerging marketplaces and new digital revenue streams; collaborate with Marketing to manage media and technology budgets and negotiate with agencies, marketplaces, and vendors.
Ensure excellence in digital shelf execution, including content strategy, ratings & reviews, search visibility, and availability.
Partner with retail media teams to maximize ROI on paid search, display, and sponsored product campaigns.
Champion a consumer‑first approach to digital engagement, personalization, and loyalty; leverage first‑party and third‑party data for targeting and segmentation.
Maintain compliance with data privacy regulations and MAP policies; build dashboards and insights with analytics teams.
Select, integrate, and enhance eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Klarna); collaborate with IT and logistics for operational excellence.
Drive automation and scalability across commerce operations; explore AI‑driven personalization, social commerce, and voice commerce.
Lead and develop a team of eCommerce specialists, providing coaching, performance management, and career development.
Represent Wagner at key industry events and conferences; travel 10–20% of the time.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience.
Experience: 10+ years in eCommerce or digital marketing, with at least 5 in consumer products or fast‑moving consumer goods, and proven success managing multi‑channel eCommerce.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of CPG dynamics, shopper behavior, omnichannel retail, digital shelf optimization, retail media, and merchandising.
Skills: Strong analytical abilities, performance marketing, data‑driven decision making; excellent leadership, communication, cross‑functional collaboration; agility, innovation, continuous improvement.
