Service Coordinator
– Metrocare Services Metrocare is the largest provider of mental health services in North Texas, serving over 55,000 adults and children annually. We offer developmental and mental health support, primary care, housing, and social services. Job Description The Service Coordinator advocates for clients, coordinates services, and monitors outcomes to ensure quality care. The role involves engaging with clients and providers, resolving problems, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Meet with developmental disability customers at home to assess needs and determine required services.
Recommend and explain services based on client needs.
Document initial service requests and enter information into the computer system.
Assist clients in accessing services that improve their quality of life.
Conduct monthly or quarterly meetings with clients to evaluate service effectiveness and identify new interventions.
Coordinate with disability services providers to arrange services, advocate for clients, and ensure client care standards.
Respond to crises, providing assistance to secure necessary services to prevent future incidents.
Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring satisfaction.
Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Competencies
Adhere to ethical standards, state contracts, and applicable laws.
Apply analytical, business ethics, confidentiality, and problem‑solving skills.
Work independently and be self‑motivated.
Possess basic computer skills; familiarity with Askesis preferred.
Maintain strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred fields: Social, Behavioral, or Human Services.
At least one year of experience working with the Intellectual/Developmental Disability population (OR Master’s degree with no experience required).
Mathematical & Reasoning Skills
Basic math proficiency.
Ability to apply common sense to simple instructions and standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Competent with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and general internet research.
Certifications & Licenses
Current Texas driver’s license (or license in your resident state with intent to obtain Texas license within 3 months).
Liability insurance required if operating a vehicle on or for Center premises.
