The Distribution/Raw Receiving Team Lead supports the supervisor in achieving departmental and organizational goals by providing direction, training, and hands‑on assistance across daily operations. This role helps maintain efficient product flow by organizing materials, coordinating tasks, and working in any necessary area. The lead also supports onboarding new team members, reinforcing safety and quality standards, and carrying out additional responsibilities assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Key Responsibilities
Retrieve product from storage areas based on customer/production orders using a scanner and assist the supervisor in guiding and directing team members to meet departmental and company goals
Organize, stage, and maintain materials, supplies, and inventory in Raw Receiving and Distribution areas
Provide hands‑on support in any area of Raw Receiving or Distribution as needed to ensure smooth operations
Train, mentor, and onboard new team members, ensuring understanding of safety, quality, and productivity standards
Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and elevate issues to the supervisor or manager as necessary
Support the supervisor with planning daily workflows, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient use of resources
Enforce and promote compliance with safety, food safety, and company policies and procedures
Assist with problem‑solving and troubleshooting operational issues as they arise
Perform additional duties or special projects as delegated by the supervisor or manager
Must cross‑train in other areas
Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience)
Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
Must pass a background check, drug screen and pre‑employment physical
Essential Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Must be able to delegate and empower effectively and responsibly
Self‑directed with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with groups
Excellent organization, problem solving and facilitation skills
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, display adequate energy and stress tolerance
Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to perform minimum of 50% of the jobs in the department at standard
Ability to train, maintain and promote a safe work environment
Read and understand HACCP along with FDA and OSHA requirements as needed
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
High School Diploma or related
Previous lead experience
Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment
Physical Demands
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner
Standing (8 hours a day or more)
Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more)
Reaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs)
Working at heights
Gripping, grasping and twisting using hands and wrists
Bending and stooping for short periods of time
Working below knee levels for short periods of time
Working above shoulder level for short periods of time
Working at various heights for short periods of time
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus
Working Conditions & Travel Requirements
Work is performed in a food processing plant with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities
Position includes working in areas with temperatures below freezing as well as working at heights
Position requires working around processing plant equipment
Must be physically capable of working extended hours if needed and in a wet environment, standing for long periods of time, and operating processing equipment
This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment
The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection
This position does not require travel
