Overview The Product Manager position is an exciting opportunity to join a fast‑growing, family‑owned company that is a leader in the small appliances industry. The candidate will play a key role in the development and implementation of global product innovation and marketing strategy for our Rental and Rug Doctor businesses. They will work closely with other departments to launch and commercialise new products and manage our current business. This role will drive rental, e‑commerce and commercial product plans, inclusive of channel management strategy, pricing, P&L management and point‑of‑purchase merchandising. This position requires strong analytical skills, experience managing category business results for consumer products, and a BA/BS in marketing or a related field of study. Candidates must demonstrate proven experience with consumer programme development, line extension development and sales, as well as leadership of cross‑functional teams.
Responsibilities
In conjunction with the marketing director and sales, develop line objectives, channel management and distribution strategies; work with key accounts to develop and improve product line productivity, gross profit and assist in maximizing customer satisfaction.
In conjunction with sourcing, work to find appropriate product opportunities and cost‑reduction opportunities.
Develop and manage appropriate merchandising, packaging and point‑of‑purchase for both product and rental lines.
Analyse, track and measure sales and share data to identify insights to drive business performance.
Monitor, measure and optimise promotional pricing strategy to optimise topline growth and bottom‑line results.
Lead category business reporting to align cross‑functional partners in business results and identify needs for continuous optimisation of in‑market plans.
Monitor competitive strategic and tactical activities; develop appropriate strategies and/or new launches.
Communicate effectively with top management, project team members, manufacturing units and all other associates.
Work closely with other members of the product business unit team and other support groups to meet timelines and budget objectives.
Be aware of the voice of the consumer on all projects to ensure that their needs are addressed; utilise consumer insights to drive positioning, copy and claims.
Understand and be held accountable for all the category’s goals (including profitability); in conjunction with the marketing director, develop and execute tactical initiatives and implement strategy to meet or exceed these goals.
Understand and assist in the annual plan and update development process.
Be available for marketing and sales projects as needed.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Degree minimum: Bachelor’s degree

Experience level: 4–6 years in consumer products
Experience in product development or customer marketing for consumer products
Proven experience with consumer programme development, line extension development and sales
Experience leading cross‑functional teams
Strong analytical skills with ability to visualise data to understand trends and tell stories
Experience developing and presenting business cases to leadership
Specialized Training/Education Preferred
