About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Compliance and Ethics and Chief Compliance Officer to lead and oversee its compliance assurance activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the institution adheres to both internal policies and external legal and regulatory requirements. This role involves providing leadership to maintain a robust compliance program, including the development of clear policies and procedures, and fostering a culture of ethics and compliance. The AVP will also be tasked with monitoring the program's performance, enhancing its effectiveness, and providing guidance on conflict of interest matters and ethical decision-making.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of ten years' experience in legal, compliance, and/or audit roles, with a proven track record in designing and implementing compliance programs. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and diplomatic skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior officers, the Board of Directors, and external partners. The ideal candidate will have the capacity to navigate complex issues, manage multiple priorities, and work both independently and as part of cross-functional teams. A JD or equivalent advanced credential, as well as experience in a higher education or research institution, are preferred qualifications.
