About the Role
The Company is in search of a Founding Executive Director to spearhead the operationalization and grantmaking launch of the organization. The successful candidate will be tasked with developing and implementing the necessary infrastructure to support the Foundation's mission of nurturing the next generation of talent in the creation of video games with a focus on art, literature, and education. This includes the entire grant process from solicitation to mentorship and promotion of recipients. The Executive Director will work closely with the founders to shape programmatic strategies and ensure their effective execution, as well as manage all operational aspects of the Foundation, such as finances, risk, governance, and compliance.
As the Foundation is in its inception stage, the role is pivotal in setting the groundwork for the organization's future. The ideal Executive Director will have a strong background in nonprofit management, a deep understanding of the video game industry, and a passion for supporting emerging talent. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include close collaboration with the founders, representing the organization to various stakeholders, and leading the Foundation through its initial three years. The role demands a strategic thinker with the ability to translate the Foundation's mission into tangible programs and a hands-on approach to ensure the smooth running of all operational facets. The Executive Director will be the driving force behind the Foundation's activities, from the selection of grant recipients to their ongoing support and promotion, and must be committed to the values of the organization.
