About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Senior Director of Development, Foundation Relations or AVP & Managing Director, Foundation Relations to lead its centralized Foundation Relations program. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping a strategic approach to foundation partnerships that supports the company's mission. This role involves overseeing a team of Foundation Relations Development Directors, fostering collaboration across campus units, and ensuring tailored support and strategic alignment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in foundation relations, fundraising, or related fields, with a strong emphasis on the private grant-making process and best practices for building relationships with decision-makers at private foundations.
Key responsibilities for this position include donor and campus relationship management, leading and mentoring a team, and facilitating cross-unit partnerships on strategic initiatives. The role also requires the development and dissemination of standard operating procedures, as well as the implementation of metrics to assess the impact of foundation cultivation. The candidate should have excellent communication, organizational, and strategic planning skills, and the ability to meet travel requirements. A background in CRM systems, project management, and negotiation is essential, along with a creative and innovative approach to problem-solving and strategy development. The position demands a leader with solid business acumen, political savvy, and the ability to build effective working relationships in a complex organizational environment.
