About the Role
The Company is seeking an in-house Head of Legal to serve as the primary legal advisor and a key business partner to executive leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing end-to-end legal support across various functions, including sporting, commercial, operational, and corporate. This role requires a legal professional who can balance risk management with the practicalities of a fast-paced environment, and who is comfortable advising on a wide range of legal matters, from player and technical issues to commercial agreements and day-to-day operational concerns. The Head of Legal will also ensure compliance with league rules and applicable laws, manage intellectual property and brand protection, and lead immigration and dispute resolution processes.
Applicants must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, be admitted to and in good standing with a U.S. State Bar, and have at least 5 years' of relevant experience in corporate transactional law. Advanced negotiating and writing skills, a proven track record in managing complex legal matters, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential. The role also demands strong problem-solving abilities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Experience in sports law and youth sports is preferred. The Head of Legal will be expected to work in typical office conditions, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
